Mahindra Marazzo Specifications, On Road Price, Mileage, Price Range in India

Mahindra has been trying to uplift itself in the utility vehicle segment for the past couple of years. Although the company launched some cars in the past few years but they did not do much to establish the dominance for the company in the segment, except for the XUV 500 which has been quite a success. In fact, the XUV 500 set the bar high for the company itself as the car is a value for money itself, so the other models had a tough time to satisfy the Indian customer who desire for more features at affordable prices.

So, the company was searching for a utility vehicle that would give Maruti and Toyota a run for their money. The public interest level spiked when the company ‘s project codenamed U321 got a name of Marazzo. The word Marazzo is basically a Basque (Catalan) word which means shark. So, the looks of the Mahindra Marazzo car model are inspired by the feared predator of the ocean so the MPV has aggressive looks at a first glance. The car created quite a buzz following the teasers images that were being launched by the company from time to time.

Finally, when the car was launched in 2018, the wait seemed well worth for the specs that were offered for the given price tag. The car was impressive at first look as the car was engineered by Mahindra’s North American Technical Centre at Michigan and Mahindra Design Valley in Chennai.  It seemed that a true competitor to Maruti Ertiga has arrived in the market.

But it does seem that the car would be able to make even the Toyota Innova Crysta little nervous. The Marazzo is the largest vehicle from the company’s stable in terms of footprint but it is smaller than both the Tata Hexa and the Innova Crysta.

So, if you want to buy this car, here are some things you need to know about Mahindra Marazzo.

Dimensions:

But when compared with the Toyota Innova Crysta, the Marazzo is  150 mm shorter in length, 21 mm shorter in height, 33 mm wider in width and 10 mm longer in terms of wheelbase.

 Infotainment System:

The Marazzo has 7.0-inch touch-screen infotainment that only supports android auto. The screen has good daylight visibility and is easy to fiddle with as it is placed quite high. the screen also acts as rearview cameras screen which even gives voice commands to aid in reverse parking.

Surround Air-Conditioning:

If you are bugged by the rear passenger having a hard time dealing with the heat even with the car’s ac on but worry not as the car has got a roof mounted AC. This feature is especially beneficial for the middle and third-row passengers.

Engine and Transmission:

The Mahindra Marazzo sports a 1.5-liter inline 4-cylinder diesel turbocharged engine which produces 123 bhp of power at 3500RPM and 300Nm of torque at 1600RPM. The car comes mated with a 6-speed manual transmission that power the front wheels. Despite the presence of a powerful engine, the Mahindra Marazzo mileage stands at 17.3km/l which is less than the Ertiga’s 25km/l but higher than the Innova Crysta which gives a mileage of 15km/l.

Price:

The price of any car is one of the most important factors that can make or break any deal. The lowest variant of the car is available at Rs 9.99 lakh ex-showroom while the top variant costs Rs 13.90 lakh, ex-showroom. So, the Mahindra Marazzo price range lies in Rs. 9.99 lacs to Rs. 13.9 lacs. Mahindra Marazzo has undergone a price hike of Rs. 30,000 - Rs. 40,000 across variants from January 1, 2019. This way the car is priced slightly above the Ertiga which starts at Rs 8.79 lakh for the base diesel version. The Mahindra Marazzo on road price starts from Rs. 10.18 lacs which is the price of its Mahindra Marazzo M2 7 STR variant. While the on-road price for the Mahindra Marazzo M8 8 STR variant costs Rs. 14.59 lacs.

On the other hand, the top end variant of the Marazzo is priced lower than the price of the base variant for the Innova Crysta that starts from a price of Rs 14.96 lakh ex-showroom.

The price point clearly reveals the buyer segment Mahindra Marazzo is targeting which is the spot vacant between the Maruti Ertiga and the Toyota Innova Crysta.

Overall the Mahindra Marazzo reviews are quite positive as Mahindra Marazzo specification offer value for money car.

So, the car be rightly be placed under the top 10 SUV Cars in India Under 15 Lakhs category.
