Mahindra has confirmed that it will debut a new pickup idea on Indian Independence Day, following its tradition of launching/revealing something on the 15th of August each year. Mahindra has issued a graphic teaser for the Global Pick Up Vision on its social media accounts, revealing that it will be a concept pickup truck based on the Mahindra Scorpio-N.

Mahindra has announced the launch of its new pickup truck, which is going to make its premiere on August 15 in Cape Town, South Africa.
This is the proposed shape of a global pickup truck, according to the local automaker. The pickup truck will most likely be built on the Mahindra Scorpio N chassis. The next Mahindra Thar five-door will be built on the same platform. It will carry forward the legacy of Mahindra’s Scorpio pickup truck, which has been in production for some time. Apart from that, Mahindra is likely to reveal more of the it's future mobility ambitions.

The Mahindra Scorpio N Pickup Teased on 15th August, internally codenamed Z121, will have a longer wheelbase than the conventional Scorpio N SUV so that the pickup truck has a larger load deck. For comparison, the Mahindra Scorpio Classic has a wheelbase of 2,600 mm, yet the pickup version of this SUV has a wheelbase of well over 3,000 mm, allowing the latter to include a load deck.

However, Mahindra has not yet  provided any other information about the future pickup truck design, but the teaser suggests that it would be capable of overcoming tough road conditions. The pickup truck concept has a double-cab body shape, a robust front grille, and massive off-road standard tyres wrapped around huge wheels.

The production version of the Mahindra Scorpio N pickup truck could be available in single and double-cab body designs. It is expected to hit the automobile market in 2025

In terms of powertrain, the pickup truck may use the same petrol and diesel engines as the SUV. The pickup truck would also have manual and automatic transmission options. It will be available in both 2WD and 4WD configurations.
