Mahindra Thar Earth Edition Launched in India; Prices Start at INR 15.40 Lakh

Mahindra India has launched the Thar Earth Edition in the Indian market. The new iteration is based on the Thar Desert. The model comes with both petrol and diesel powertrains. The auto giant has made a few cosmetic changes that set the Earth Edition apart from the previous model.

The auto giant is offering this special edition in four variants: Thar Earth Edition Petrol MT, Thar Earth Edition Petrol AT, Thar Earth Edition Diesel MT, and Thar Earth Edition Diesel AT. The Thar Earth Edition is available at a starting price of INR 15.40 lakh (ex-showroom).

On the exterior, the 3-door SUV gets a new Satin Matter color and an Earth Edition badge. Mahindra refers to the new Satin color as Desert Fury. The grille and ORVMs now have body-color accents. The special edition gets silver alloy wheels and desert-themed decals.

Inside the cabin, the Mahindra Thar Earth Edition features a decorative VIN plate on the dashboard. The new model comes with beige stitching, leatherette seats, and Earth branding on the seats. The headrests now have a Dune design, while the door pads have Desert Fury accents. Additionally, it features other elements like thematic inserts on the steering wheel, twin-tone AC vents, centre gear console, HVAC housing, cup holders, and more.

Mahindra is also offering a range of accessories like rear and front armrests, 7D mats, a comfort kit, and more. Notably, the auto giant is selling the accessories separately from the new edition. Under the hood, the Mahindra Thar Earth Edition is powered by the same 2.2-litre diesel and 2.0-litre petrol engines coupled with six-speed manual and torque converter AT transmissions.
