Mahindra XUV700 went on sale nearly a couple of months back in October 2021 in the Indian market. The SUV was received overwhelmingly well by the customers in the country and within a month, it had raked up over 70,000 bookings. Now, we have learnt that the Mahindra XUV700 waiting period has gone up to 19 months for the range-topping AX7 variants. The minimum waiting period is for the entry-level MX grade in petrol fuel trim which is around 7 months. Mahindra XUV700 price starts at Rs 12.49 Lakhs and goes as high as Rs 20.19 Lakhs for the top-end variant (Both the prices are Ex. Showroom).

The XUV700 was introduced in both petrol and diesel fuel trims across four trim levels namely MX, AX3, AX5 and AX7. The MX diesel waiting period currently stands at 10 months. The customers who have booked the mid AX3 variants will have to wait between 8-12 months, depending on the choice of engine, transmission and city. As for the AX5 variants, there deliveries will start only after a year from now. So, it is quite evident from these stats that the waiting period is the highest for the flagship variants which come equipped with a plethora of features and tech. The reason cited behind the massive delay in deliveries is the global shortage of semiconductor chips which happened due to frequent lockdowns because of COVID-19.
Mahindra has introduced a new AX7 Smart variant which misses out on a few premium features but is superior to the AX5 grade. The features missing in the AX7 Smart are Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Hold Assist (HHA), Hill Descent Control (HDC), Knee airbag, Drive modes, Electronic Parking Brake (EPB), Wireless charger, Electric door handles and Driver Drowsiness Detection. Mahindra XUV700 is powered by a 2.2L 4-cylinder mHawk diesel engine which generates top power in two tunes of 152 bhp and 182 bhp. The petrol variants house a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine which churns out 197 bhp. The transmission choices available are a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic.
