Mahindra XUV700 will go on sale from October 2, 2021 with price announcement happening the same day

Mahindra & Mahindra has been constantly teasing the world with the new features of its upcoming and most expensive SUV till date, the XUV700, in the country. Now, we have learnt that the Mahindra XUV700 world premiere will take place on August 15, 2021 which coincides with the 75th Independence Day of India. Furthermore, the all-new SUV will go on sale from October 2, 2021 with price announcement and deliveries resuming the same day. The home-grown automaker had followed an identical strategy for the launch of the Thar SUV last year.

Mahindra has already teased several features of the XUV700 through videos at its social media platforms. The highlight of exterior styling will be flush-fitting door handles. However, they will be limited to the top-end trim as the base variants will be offered with manual door handles. Underpinning an all-new monocoque platform, Mahindra XUV700 will debut Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) which will carry a host of premium safety features except self-parking. The company is aiming for the highest 5-star safety rating for the SUV from Global NCAP. Mahindra has exuded confidence for at least a 4-star safety rating for XUV700, which is similar to what theThar SUV had received from the apex body.

As far as features are concerned, Mahindra XUV700 will be packed with a plethora of bells and whistles in the form of Electrically adjustable front seats with memory function, 60:40 split 2nd row seats, Alexa-based connected car tech, 12-speaker Sony sound system with subwoofer, Multi-drive modes, Ambient lighting and two massive screens for instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment system. Mechanically, it will be available with petrol and diesel engines with both manual and automatic gearbox options. The petrol variants will come with a 2.0L turbocharged unit with power output of 197 bhp while the diesel variants will draw power from a 2.0L mHawk mill which dishes out 182 bhp. The transmission choices on offer will be a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic unit.
