Its variants are likely to be renamed as Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha just like all other Nexa products.

The Maruti Ciaz is finally making its official move to the Nexa dealerships, where it will be sold from now. The popular model will be taking its business to the premium dealership chain and its variants are likely to be renamed as Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha just like all other Nexa products, ditching the existing grades of L, V, Z and Z+.

The Ciaz sedan was only sold through regular Maruti Suzuki dealerships till now but Maruti decided to move the model to Nexa to pump up its appeal and exclusivity. The sedan also has an extra colour option added called the 'Nexa Blue' but that won't be the only change. The Maruti brand name will be removed from all Ciaz products in the Nexa dealerships. Other than that, there will not be any changes including mechanically. Engine power will remain the same, with the petrol model running on the 93hp, 1.4-litre K14 motor and the diesel will use the tuned 90hp, 1.3-litre DDiS200 unit equipped with SHVS mild-hybrid technology. Both engines will come paired with a five-speed manual gearbox as standard, with the petrol additionally getting the option of a four-speed automatic gearbox.

Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited R S Kalsi said, “Today, Nexa has established itself as a successful model with over 200,000 cars being delivered in less than two years of launch. Ciaz at Nexa gives us the confidence to do even better and strengthen the brand Maruti Suzuki. Through this move, we will be able to offer the Nexa experience to new customers. At the same time, Ciaz will help us achieve our sustained long-term goal of 20 percent sales through Nexa.” Successful it is indeed as Nexa is presently operating at over 250 outlets and has cumulatively sold over 200,000 cars.
