Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has crossed the sales milestone of 5.50 Lakh units in the Indian market. Being the country's best-selling MPV, it is the only vehicle in its segment to come with a factory fitted CNG option. The company revealed that Ertiga MPV has nearly 20 percent repeat customers which signifies the trust of people in the brand. It has been the leader of the MPV segment for the past two years while locking horns with the likes of Toyota Innova Crysta, Mahindra Marazzo, Renault Triber and likes in India.

Speaking on the success, Mr. Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “Over the years, brand Ertiga has redefined the notion of utilitarian MPVs with its sharp style, space, comfort, safety and host of technology features. As India’s first compact MPV, Ertiga continues to build a legacy of innovation. The remarkable milestone of 5.5 Lakh sales is a testimony of its success. While making a purchase decision, customers often cross- consider MPVs with UVs. Despite being cross-considered with top selling UVs in the country, Ertiga has dominated the market and increased its market share in the segment.”

Originally launched in April 2012, Maruti Ertiga comes with projector headlamps and chrome studded grille upfront while the rear profile is flanked by 3D tail lamps. The dashboard is finished in maple wood finish with chrome accents. The third row of seats boast of recliners while some of the other premium features include steering mounted audio and calling controls, air cooled cup holders, auto climate control and charging socket for each row. As far as safety features are concerned, it gets dual airbags, hill hold (AT only), ISOFIX, electronic stability program (AT only) and ABS with EBD as standard. Mechanically, Maruti Ertiga is powered by a BS6 compliant 1.5L K-Series petrol engine with Smart Hybrid technology and automatic transmission option.
