All the 3,086 showrooms of Maruti Suzuki across 1,964 towns and cities will abide by the new safety protocols.

Maruti Suzuki has issued a comprehensive standard operating procedure (SoP) for all its dealerships across the country. The highest level of emphasis is laid to ensure hygiene and sanitization across all its showrooms for the safety of its customers and employees. The company has resumed sales operations with 600 dealerships initially in the green zone districts out of the total 3,086 showrooms across 1,964 towns and cities with home delivery of the vehicles. The first delivery was reported in Kerala by Indus Motors of a S-Presso small hatchback amidst the COVID-19 outbreak after a month.

The SoP issued by Maruti Suzuki covers all the facets of customer interactions. From the time a customer walks into the showroom, till the final delivery of the vehicle -- all processes have been scientifically studied to offer a safe, hygienic and a virus free environment to customers. In fact, customers can now choose their car and accessories digitally as well. The bookings and personalization can be made through the websites – www.marutisuzuki.com and www.nexaexperience.com while all the documents for vehicle purchase can also be submitted digitally. As per the SoP, the Maruti dealerships are carrying out complete sterilization of the test-drive vehicles before aligning it for the customers. One individual is being allowed to take the test drive with the relationship manager sitting in the back row.

The company is even facilitating door step delivery of cars. All staff visiting the customer's home will follow safety protocols – including wearing masks and carrying sanitizers. All cars will be fully disinfected before delivery. In case of delivery from showrooms, limited persons would be encouraged. The showrooms will have hand-sanitizers at every touchpoint. Maruti is keeping a track on the health of all employees through a wellness app every day. Employees who report good health for at least 14 consecutive days are allowed to resume work. Thermal scanning, availability of sanitizers, staggered lunch timings and compulsory wearing of face masks throughout the working hours and commutation has also been implemented.
