McLaren Will Enter the Indian Market in 2018

McLaren’s entire range will be available in India and the carmaker intends to sell 10 cars per year.

The British sportscar manufacturer wants to expand its presence across the globe and is looking at selling in India too. Globally, McLaren sells the 540C, the 570 range comprising the Coupé, Spider and GT, the 675LT range, the 650S (Spider and Coupe) and its most recent addition, the 720S. In 2013, McLaren sold all units of its P1 hypercar as well.

The carmaker’s entry-level 540C, which could cost ₹2 crore (ex-showroom), is what McLaren believes will do the most numbers. The company’s target for India is to sell 10 Cars per year and it wants to sell up to 5,000 cars globally by 2022. Last year, the company sold 3,286 units, which is nearly twice as much as the 1,654 cars it sold in 2015.

McLaren currently has 79 sales and service outlets spread over Asia, Europe, Middle East, Africa, North America, and Latin America.
