The launch of Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV will make the brand a strong contender strengthening German luxury car brand’s position against its competitors like BMW, Volvo, and Audi etc., who have launched their EV lineups in the Indian market.
This might come as a surprise, but the Mercedes-Benz EQE EV SUV first launched in October 2022. This model is an SUV version of the sedan model of EQE which is based on EVA( Electric-Vehicle Architecture). Three electric vehicles from the German automaker are supported by the EVA Platform. And the brand has rolled out pricing for the model to be INR 1.39 crore(ex-showroom).
The model will come out with unmatched powertrain variants along with battery options.
Mercedes-Benz is gunning to score 25% sales of EV vehicles in the Indian vehicle market in the next 3 years. This figure is a direct shoot up to its current figure surrounding 3-4% sales. Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV launch today is strategically a part of this futuristic mission. It is a speculation that the brand will bring more premium segment EV cars to India in the coming years. Worldwide, Mercedes sells a variety of EV cars like EQC SUV, EQA SUV, EQE Sedan and EQV van along with other variants available in the market.
Mercedes-Benz commented in 2021 that they will go all EV by 2030, but with certain conditions. The officials said that they will increase their EV market coverage where the countries will accept it and they’ll experience a surge in sales. But, if there will be any lack in the demand, the German automaker will continue its petrol and diesel car-segment even after 2030. And as of now, India seems a promising market due to rising EV demands, Mercedes will increase their production capacity in both EV and fossil-fuel powered vehicles.
