India's specific Mercedes-Benz GLE is limited to diesel and gasoline engines, as opposed to the plug-in hybrid options available on the global-spec model.

Mercedes-Benz has finally launched the long-awaited Mercedes-Benz GLE Facelift SUV today in India. The starting price of GLE Facelift SUV India is from INR 96.4 Lakh and going up to INR 1.15 Crore (ex-showroom). And to a surprise, now the model sports various cosmetic exterior changes clubbed with sophisticated yet chic changes in the cabin body. The brand today only launched another high-end model of theirs, namely  Mercedes Benz AMG C43 with a starting price of INR 98 lakh (ex-showroom).

This newly launched Mercedes GLE Facelift is a substantial car model for the German automaker in the Indian vehicle market. It lies between GLC and GLS in the sports utility vehicles product lineup of the brand. And along with all, it is among one of the best selling SUV models in India with currently over 20K models running on Indian roads. Whereas, the Mercedes GLC was upgraded earlier this year, this new GLE Facelift is similarly gaining grip like GLC. Like almost every other Mercedes SUV, GLE continues to be equipped with petrol and diesel engines, and comes with a 48V mild-hybrid system.

The updated GLE SUV has undergone only minor modifications, keeping its pre-facelift silhouette and design language. The Mercedes-Benz GLE facelift includes new LED headlights and a single-slat grille up front. For a new look, the bumper has also undergone a slight update. Regarding the silhouette, the 2023 GLE comes standard with 20-inch alloy wheels, though 22-inch wheels are an option. The back bumper also appears more modern, and the taillamps are now updated.

Similar to the previous model, the Mercedes GLE is only available in India in long-wheelbase (LWB) form, which offers more interior space.

Mercedes-Benz GLE Facelift Interior Details

Mercedes has also minimized the interior modifications for the GLE makeover. The dashboard layout is almost exactly the same as it was prior to the facelift. Yet it now has a redesigned steering wheel with touch-haptic controls and upgraded merged infotainment displays (12.3-inch each) that use Mercedes' most recent MBUX operating system.

The GLE facelift also comes equipped with a 590W 13-speaker Burmester sound system (standard), an air purifier, wireless Android auto and Apple CarPlay, 4-zone climate control, an electric tailgate, and electrically flexible front and rear seating with memory settings (front seats). 100W fast charging is now supported by the rear USB-C charge ports. The heated seats, head-up display, and AIRMATIC suspension are additional benefits for the top version.

Nine airbags, traction control, park assist, a 360-degree camera, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) like autonomous emergency braking and blind spot monitoring ensure the safety of the occupants.
