The price revision will be effective from January 15, 2021 on every Mercedes car in India

Mercedes Benz India has announced a hike of 5 percent in the ex-showroom price of all its cars available for sale in the country. The price revision will be effective from January 15, 2021 on every Mercedes vehicle sold in India. The company has cited steady depreciation of the Indian currency compared to the euro in the past six to seven months and rising input costs as the primary reasons behind the price hike. As per the German luxury brand, both the aforementioned factors have increased the operational costs of the company, hence by triggering a price adjustment to offset that.

“At Mercedes-Benz we offer an enriched product portfolio with the latest features like Mmc technology and keep introducing new product enhancements in specific models. We have been operating a sustainable and future ready business; however, a necessary price correction is required to offset the continuous rise in input and operational costs. The new price range of our select vehicles will ensure the brand’s premium price positioning, assuring a sustainable growth both for the brand and our dealer partners, enabling continuation of the best-in-segment customer ownership experiences, equated with Mercedes-Benz”, commented Martin Schwenk, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India on the announcement.

Mercedes Benz C-Class, the entry-level model in the company's portfolio, will be expensive by approximately Rs 2 lakh while AMG GT 63 S 4 Door Coupe, the flagship model of the three-pointed star brand in India, will cost nearly Rs 15 lakhs more than the present price. It also said that due to the overwhelming demand, the GLE and GLS SUVs and certain variants of the C-Class, E-Class and the GLC models are waitlisted. The company has been investing in introducing new technologies and features like ‘Mercedes Me Connect’ across its product portfolio.  Below is the comprehensive list of price increase across Mercedes Benz model range in India:
