Mercedes Benz India has launched the AMG version of C-Class C43 in India. The pan-India ex-showroom prices for the performance-oriented coupe start at Rs. 75 Lakhs. With this new iteration of C43, the German luxury brand aims to cater to such C-Class customers who wanted a sportier experience out of their cars.

Instead of refreshing the existing C43 sedan, Mercedes Benz has gone ahead and brought the sportier version of sedan first. Perhaps this can be attributed to the positive response that the C43 version garnered when it was first launched in India in 2016. Apart from various changes under the hood, on the exterior front the AMG version of C43 comes with just two doors, a move aimed at giving the car sportier looks and a more appealing appearance.

The AMG badge has always stood for mind-boggling performance and exciting internals and the new C43 AMG does not disappoint here. The twin turbo 3L V6 petrol mill of the new two-door coupe is rated to churn out a humongous 390 Bhp and 520 Nm. This much juice is enough to take this new sedan from nil to a ton in just under 4.7 seconds. Whereas, as had been the case with most performance cars these days, expect to find the speed of C43 AMG limited to Km/h.

Mercedes Benz’s very own 4MATIC all-wheel drive system finds a place on the new C43 AMG as well, whereas the transmission duties are taken care of by an AMG SPEEDSHIFT 9-speed transmission that focuses on shorter shift times and smooth transition. The aforementioned AWD sends 31% of torque to front wheels and the remaining torque is sent to the rear wheels. Mercedes claims that this distribution of torque via its own system offers a thrilling ride and better grip as well.

As far as features are concerned, the new AMG C43 comes equipped with multi-beam LED headlights, 18-inch five-spoke AMG alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof and a 64 color ambient lighting on the inside. In its cabin, the AMG also gets sports seats with red seat belts all AMG branded, a full suite of safety features, and a 10.25-inch screen for the COMAND infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. Apart from this, the new German sports coupe also has a 2 stage speed sensitive steering, multiple driving modes and a suspension that ca ne adjusted electronically.

As already stated, the car aims to please the speed lovers out there who want a sporty coupe. This does not mean that the car is not luxurious, AMG C43 is every bit luxurious as one expects of a Mercedes-Benz however, the AMG brand makes it go super quick and fun as well!
