Mercedes Benz 'Made in India' AMG GLC 43 Coupe Launched at Rs 76.70 Lakhs

Mercedes India has launched its much-awaited AMG GLC 43 Coupe in the country today

Mercedes Benz India has launched it’s first ‘Made in India’ AMG model, GLC 43 Coupe today at a starting price of Rs 76.70 lakhs (ex-showroom) in the country. India’s largest luxury carmaker today has achieved yet another milestone of commencing the local production of the first-ever AMG vehicle in the country. The AMG GLC 43 Coupe SUV was rolled out off the assembly line at the company’s Chakan plant near Pune.



Cosmetically, Mercedes Benz AMG GLC 43 Coupe features an AMG-signature Panamericana front grille with vertical chrome-plated 15 fins upfront. The front bumper gives the GLC Coupe an aggressive look. In addition, the model also features LED high-performance headlamps with DRLs. On the sides, the model gets a sensual Coupe silhouette that combines style and aerodynamics. It further offers 19-inch AMG light-alloy wheels featuring AMG lettering on it. The brand also offers 5 alloy wheel options ranging from 19 - 21 inches in size with the Coupe-SUV. The redesigned tail-lights, two-round twin tailpipes, a broad apron, and a diffuser gives a sporty look to the Coupe from behind.



The coupe SUV gets a sporty and stylish AMG interior. The special highlight of the cabin is the AMG flat-bottom sport steering wheel. Since the AMG GLC Coupe is a fully-connected car, it features the latest version of the MBUX infotainment system with AMG-specific functions and displays, a 12.3-inch instrument cluster screen with digital dials, and a 10.25 inch HD touchscreen. Furthermore, it boasts of standard sport seats with black Artico leather/ Dinamica microfiber complemented with red topstitching. It also caters to 5 drive modes namely Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport+, and Individual. Other highlights include a voice-control function that will be activated by the words ‘Hey Mercedes’, a Burmester surround sound system, wireless smartphone charging, heated front seats, and a button to open up the exhaust valves for a sportier soundtrack. The safety kit on AMG GLC 43 Coupe comprises active braking assist, active bonnet, Mercedes Me Connect with 24X7 emergency services, and 7 airbags.

Under the bonnet, the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 Bi-turbo engine that generates 385 bhp power and 520 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to an AMG Speedshift 9G-Tronic 9-speed automatic transmission, developed in-house by Mercedes-Benz. Furthermore, this gearbox sends the power to all the 4 wheels via a 4Matic all-wheel-drive system. The sports coupe comes equipped with Mercedes-AMG Ride Control Plus suspension. It is basically based on the air body control air suspension with AMG-specific Adaptive Damping System (ADS PLUS). This feature ensures both sporty driving dynamics and comfort on long journeys.
