The Celebration Edition is priced at ₹50.86 lakh for the GLC 220d and costs ₹51.25 lakh for the GLC 300 (all prices, ex-showroom, India). Both cars cost ₹88,000 over the standard GLC.
The cars come with a few cosmetic and feature upgrades, but remain unchanged mechanically. There’s a new red colour scheme, LED logo projectors on the exit lamps in the side doors, black exterior mirror housing and sports pedals finished in stainless steel. Chrome has been added to the front, over the faux air intakes, and there’s even a chrome strip at the rear.
The ‘Celebration Edition’ GLC was launched to commemorate the 70th anniversary of India’s Independence. Under the hood, you get the option of a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol and a 2.1-litre four-cylinder diesel engine. The petrol engine makes 245hp and 370Nm of torque, while the diesel makes 170hp and 400Nm of torque. Both send power via Mercedes’ nine-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox.
