MG Comet EV Price Reduced by Up to INR 1.40 Lakh

The SAIC-owned British automobile brand is aiming to increase its passenger vehicle sales figures in 2024.

MG Motor India has revised the prices of the Comet EV, making it more affordable for buyers. The company recently revised the prices of its entire lineup for its 100th anniversary. However, MG Motor only disclosed the initial price of each model earlier. The brand has now revealed the complete price details of its models.

The Comet EV is available in three variants: Pace, Play, and Plush. In India, the MG Comet EV’s price ranges between INR 99,000 and INR 1.40 lakh. After the price reduction, the Comet electric comes at a price range between INR 6.99 lakh and INR 8.58 lakh (ex-showroom).

The automaker has reduced the price of its Comet entry-level Pace variant by INR 99,000, leveling it down from INR 7.98 lakh to INR 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The Plush and Play variants have received a price reduction of INR 1.40. The top-level Plush variant is now available at a price of INR 8.58 lakh (ex-showroom), while earlier it was priced at INR 9.98 lakh (ex-showroom). Instead of INR 9.28 lakh (ex-showroom), the Comet Play EV now comes priced at INR 7.88 lakh (ex-showroom).

The SAIC-owned British automobile maker is looking to increase its passenger vehicle sales figure this year. With the recent price reduction, the company is aiming to achieve higher sales at a time when demand for EVs and green mobility is surging.

The MG Comet EV is powered by a 17.3 kWh battery set. The EV comes with a certified range of 230 km on one charge. The battery set is mated to an electric motor located at the rear axle that churns out 41 bhp of peak power and 110 Nm of max torque.

Apart from MG, other carmakers like Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai have also revised the prices of their cars for the month of February 2024. MG Motor has reduced the cost of its entire range of PVs. The ZS electric vehicle has received the biggest price reduction, up to INR 2.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
