The all-electric Cyberster concept draws inspiration from the MGB Roadster from the 1960s

The all-electric MG Cyberster Concept has been unveiled ahead of its official public debut at the 2021 Shanghai motor show to be held later this month. The electric concept has been developed at the brand’s Advanced Design Centre in London. It is basically intended to recall the Chinese-owned brand's roots as a British sports car maker.

It takes its design inspiration from the classic MGB Roadster. Upfront, it gets a slim grille design which is flanked by ‘Magic Eye’ LED headlamps. The headlamps get illuminated when the vehicle is switched on. In addition, it gets a front shovel lower lip, large air intakes, a long bonnet with two prominent kinks, and black stripes on the bonnet. On the sides, the concept gets bold ‘laser belt’ LED strips. The rear end of the concept looks quite flattened thereby sporting a ‘Kammback’ styling. It features an LED light design that contains elements of the Union Jack flag and a rear spoiler.

Moving inside the cabin of the Cyberster concept, we can see a large digital display positioned behind the flattened U-shaped multifunction steering. The centre console divides the cabin into two halves as it flows right from the dashboard to the rear section of the cabin. The driver’s side features a touch panel for gear selector and a rectangular display. The two-seater concept further gets dual-tone upholstery. Besides these, it will also feature 5G connectivity.

Talking about engine specifications, MG has not revealed anything yet. However, the British carmaker states that the concept is based on a bespoke EV architecture. It further claims to offer a driving range of 800 km on a single charge and accelerate from 0-100 kmph within 3 seconds.
