MG Gloster Launched at Rs 28.98 Lakhs

MG Gloster has been introduced in four grades: Super, Smart, Sharp and Savvy

MG Motor India has finally launched the Gloster at an introductory price of Rs 28.98 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) in the country. The aforementioned MG Gloster price also covers the cost of My MG Shield Customization, which stands at Rs 50,000. The SUV has been introduced in four grades: Super, Smart, Sharp and Savvy. The entry-level Super and Smart variants are offered in a 7-seater configuration while the Sharp trim is available in both 6-seater and 7-seater layouts, followed by the top-end Savvy derivative which comes only in a 6-seater avatar.

Being touted as the country's first Autonomous (Level 1) Premium SUV, it is loaded with several exquisite features such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) and Automatic Parking Assist (APA), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Blind Spot Detection (BSD). MG Gloster features also include a massive 12.3-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system with voice command on apps like Gaana & MapMyIndia. Some of the other key elements include 64 color ambient lighting, PM 2.5 air filter, Apple Watch Connectivity and panoramic sunroof. The SUV comes with MG i-SMART technology which includes several industry-first features such as Critical Tyre Pressure Voice Alert, Shortpedia App, and Anti-Theft Immobilization via Smartphone.

Under the bonnet, MG Gloster has a BS6 compliant 2.0L turbocharged diesel engine with Super and Smart trims. It develops a top power of 163bhp and peak torque of 375Nm while linked to an 8-speed automatic transmission as standard. The higher trims - Sharp and Savvy - are powered by a twin-turbocharged version of the same diesel engine which belts out 218bhp and 480Nm while paired with the same 8-speed automatic unit. The company is also offering a four-wheel-drive (4x4) system with these variants with seven driving modes: Snow, Mud, Sand, Eco, Sport, Normal and Rock. MG Gloster bookings started a couple of weeks back in the Indian market at a token amount of Rs 1 Lakh.
