MG Motors has hiked the prices of its newly-launched MG Gloster SUV in the country. As you would be aware that the Gloster was launched in India on October 8, 2020, at an introductory price of Rs 28.98 lakhs (ex-showroom), India. At the time of the launch, the manufacturer stated that the initial pricing was for the starting 2,000 units only and till the time period of 31st October 2020. Thus, the stated deadline has crossed plus 2,000 units of Gloster have already been booked. Deliveries are yet to begin with the expectation that before Diwali, the SUV could in fact be dispatched to respective customers.
Talking about the new price increase, then the hikes are on all the 4 variants currently retailed in the Indian market. The base Super 7-seater trim receives the biggest increase of Rs 1 lakh. On the other hand, Smart 6-seater comes with a hike of Rs 50,000 The manufacturer has also given a hike of Rs 30,000 on both the Sharp 6-seater and 7-seater variants. The top-end Savvy 6-seater variant receives a price increase of Rs 20,000.
With the new price increase, MG Gloster still continues to be affordable than its rivals like Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner. MG Gloster base variant is cheaper by almost Rs 3000 in comparison to the Endeavour. If we go to the top-end diesel 4X4 model, MG’s SUV is cheaper by Rs 1.3 lakh in comparison to the Fortuner.
Talking about the powertrains, MG Gloster Super and Smart variants are powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine. The powertrain delivers 163bhp of maximum power output and 375Nm of peak torque. It is paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The higher-end trims Sharp and Savvy come powered by a twin-turbocharged version of the same diesel engine. It belts out 218bhp of maximum power output with 480Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 8-speed automatic transmission.

The Ford EcoSport BS6 in both petrol and diesel engine capacities. 1.0-liter EcoBoost Retreat Engine. No big changes excluding engines compatible with BS6. BS6 Ford EcoSport will reach Dealerships in this month.
