British brand MG Motors has officially revealed Hector in India and bookings for the upcoming SUV are also expected to start soon.

Chinese-owned British brand MG Motors will mark their entry in the Indian market when they will launch the Hector SUV in the country in June. The company has officially revealed the car in India and bookings for the upcoming SUV will also start in the month that the car will be launched in India. However, before the bookings of the upcoming SUV begin, the company will display the SUV at all its dealerships in India so that the customers can get an actual feel of the SUV before they make the purchase or book the SUV. As of now the company has 120 showrooms in India and it aims to more than double the number by September 2019.

The upcoming MG Hector has a very imposing look in the streets and has a massive street presence. The major reason behind this is the size of the SUV. Upon launch the Hector will take the crown of the largest SUV in the segment. However, the street presence that the SUV commands can also be attributed to its design as it has the same futuristic design that has kind of become a trend in the car industry lately. At the front of the MG Hector we get a huge grille and sleek LED DRLs that form the extended part of the grille. The lower end of the bumper houses the headlights and the fog lamps. The front also sees extensive usage of silver and chrome inserts that will make the SUV more premium in the eyes of the Indian customer. Not just the front, the rear also gets a silver insert with the exhaust tips being integrated in the bumper of the SUV. There is plastic classing present on the bumper, wheel arches, and the side of the SUV’s body.

It was expected that the upcoming Chinese-owned British brand will stuff the Hector SUV with features to the brim and now the company has presented the car’s features and exterior looks in an official capacity. The package includes many segment firsts and segment leading points. Perhaps the major attraction is the iSmart system that offers cloud based connectivity in the Hector.

MG Hector will come with an inbuilt Airtel eSIM with the upcoming SUV ready to adopt the 5G technology. This extremely advanced feature will equip the MG Hector to get updated via the eSim, just like the technology used in the smartphones. iSmart technology will be a standard feature of all the upcoming MG cars in the future. The upcoming MG Hector will also be equipped with a 10.8-inch portrait-oriented infotainment system featuring a few pre-installed apps and a 7-inch driver LCD display.

The company will price the Hector SUV very aggressively and load it with features so that it can lure in the customers headed for Compass or Harrier. As far as features are concerned, the Chinese SUV will come with 360-degree parking camera, flat-bottomed steering wheel, cruise control, and TPMS. Apart from that the SUV will be equipped with dual-tone dashboard, sunroof on top models, LED projector headlamps, LED tail lamps, Harman Infinity audio system, 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and leather seats.

As far as the engine options for the MG Hector are concerned, the upcoming Chinese owned British brand SUV will come equipped with two engine options. The first will be a 1.5L liter turbocharged petrol and the other a 2L Fiat Multijet turbocharged diesel, the latter being the same one found on Compass and Harrier. The outputs for petrol engine will be 143 Bhp-250 Nm whereas the diesel engine is supposed to produce 170 Bhp of power and 350 Nm. MG will also offer a 48V hybrid system as an optional feature with the petrol variants. Also, the petrol variants also get 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission as an option.
