Based on the XM concept, the car is powered by a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine.

Mitsubishi’s new three-row MPV will be on display at the upcoming Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show. The car will most likely be called the ‘Expander’, however Mitsubishi hasn’t confirmed an official name just yet.

The MPV is 4,475mm long, 1,750mm wide, and 1,700mm tall. There are high-mounted headlights, fog lamps, and squared-off fenders and the company claims this car combines the toughness of an SUV with the roominess of an MPV. On the inside, there’s a dual-tone beige and grey interior with a dashboard design centred on an infotainment touchscreen. Since it’s an MPV, this car will have seven seats as standard.

There will be only one engine under the hood - a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder MIVEC petrol unit - mated to either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic gearbox. The MPV will go up against the likes of Suzuki’s Ertiga and Honda’s Mobilio abroad. Mitsubishi, in India, sells the Pajero Sport and the Montero SUVs in India and the brand will launch the Outlander SUV soon.
