The new-generation Maruti Swift is going to land in India and is set to draw inspiration from the recently revealed Swift concept showcased at the Tokyo Motor Show. Although we've had a sneak peek at this concept through a few images, it has now made its first real-world appearance.
The concept's design primarily integrated the Swift's distinctive look, but it also included a few elements that were comparable to the Mini Cooper. The body of the car seems wider than the windows and roofline. The new headlights with LED daytime running lights (DRL) signature give the front end a sharper appearance. The redesigned grille, which appears to have shrunk in size, almost borders these lights, which are located just below the prominent hood line.

The door handles have been moved to a more standard location, compared to the current Swift's rear C-pillar handles, which has resulted in minor changes to the side profile, which is somewhat similar to the current model. The tailgate, taillights, and even the bumper all have the same outline, giving the back end a recognizable appearance. Black inserts have been added to the rear bumper, and an LED signature in the shape of an inverted C is displayed in the taillights. However, compared to the previous model, everything looks more angular and edgy.
We anticipate that the majority of these design elements are kept even though this is just a concept because the design appears to be very close to being ready for production.
Interior styling is inspired by more recent cars like the Fronx, Grand Vitara, and Baleno, with minor dashboard tweaks and a sportier color scheme of glossy black, white, and black.
Although there isn't a lot of information available about the features, there is a 9-inch touchscreen system with wireless connectivity for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The multi-information display (MID) in the center of the driver's display is still analog. Cruise control, automatic climate control, keyless entry with a push-button start-stop system, and a number of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), including automatic high beam assistance and autonomous braking assistance, are anticipated features.
The Swift is not yet entirely switching to electric power, despite the fact that the engine's specifications are unknown from Maruti Suzuki. Suzuki makes reference to a "high-efficiency engine and CVT" that balances performance and fuel economy. The 'Hybrid' badging at the back serves as confirmation of this. India is most likely to stick with its existing 1.2-liter DualJet petrol engine, which produces 89PS and 113Nm, and forego the hybrid system. An automated manual transmission (AMT) or a 5-speed manual transmission are both options for this engine.
The next-generation Swift may be revealed soon, with an Indian debut anticipated for next year, according to the concept's appearance. In comparison to the present starting price of Rs 5.99 lakh, this update may result in higher price points. The Swift will continue to face off against vehicles like the Tata Punch, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, and the Renault Triber as a hatchback substitute.
