Audi India releases a teaser of the car on its website and social media ahead of its official launch.

Audi India is all set to launch the 2020 RS7 Sportback in the country in July this year. Recently, the German carmaker teased the car on its website and social media handles ahead of its launch. The performance sedan looks similar to the outgoing model. But one can easily identify it because of its low stance. It is likely to be priced at Rs 1.75 crore (ex-showroom). Once launched, the RS7 will compete against the likes of Mercedes Benz AMG E63 and BMW M5 Competition.

According to the teaser, the new RS7 is based on the standard A7 model. What differentiates it from the Audi A7 model is its wider proportion and aggressive-looking front fascia. It gets features like the bonnet, front doors, and boot lid, which is also present in the A7. The front end caters to a gloss black honeycomb grille with massive air dams and matrix LED headlights, giving it an aggressive look. The rear end of the car gets a larger diffuser surrounding the RS signature oval exhaust. The India-spec model will get 21-inch wheels. Globally, the Audi RS7 is available with 21- and 22-inch wheels.

The cabin of the New Audi RS7 will boast of Alcantara upholstery. Other highlighted features will include a dual touchscreen layout on the dashboard and an RS-specific steering wheel with large paddle shifters. The car is a four-seater but the India-spec model is likely to be a five-seater.

Under the skin, the New Audi RS7 will be powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo, V8 petrol engine, mated to a 48V mild hybrid system. This engine will churn out 600 bhp power and 800 Nm torque in comparison to the first-generation Audi RS7 models that delivered 560 bhp power output with 700 Nm of peak torque. The engine will be linked to an 8-speed torque converter gearbox and sends powers to all the wheels via the brand’s Audi Quattro all-wheel-drive-system.
