New-Gen Hyundai Creta Completes One Year in India

Hyundai India has sold 1.21 Lakh units of the Creta SUV since its launch which happened exactly a year back on March 16, 2020.

Hyundai India had launched the new-gen Creta last year in March. Since its launch, the SUV has managed to hold its position as the country’s top-selling SUV. Recently, the South Korean automaker announced that it has successfully sold nearly 1.21 lakh units of the all-new Creta in a span of one year. Talking about the sales numbers, about 51 percent of customers have bought top-end SX & SX(O) trims. Over 60 percent of the sales have come from the diesel variants while the automatic transmission variants account for 20 percent of sales.

 

The all-new Creta comes equipped with a plethora of segment-first features. These include a 10.2-inch HD infotainment system integrated with BlueLink, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, ventilated front seats, in-built Air Purifier, 7-inch digital instrument cluster, blue ambient lighting, driver rear-view monitor and smartphone wireless charger among many others. The SUV also offers Smart technology features like an electronic parking brake with auto hold and paddle shifters.

2020 Hyundai Creta houses three engines under the bonnet - a 1.5 litre petrol, 1.4 litre turbo petrol, and a 1.5 litre diesel engine. The 1.5-litre Mpi petrol engine churns out 115bhp power and 144Nm peak torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard along with a CVT gearbox as an option. The diesel variant sources its power from a 1.5-litre turbocharged U2 CRDi engine that dishes out 115bhp power and 250Nm peak torque. This particular engine can be availed with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Besides these, there is also a high-performance 1.4L Kappa T-GDi engine that belts out a maximum power of 140bhp and a peak torque of 242Nm while being linked to a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox.
