New-Gen Suzuki Hayabusa was globally unveiled last week. The iconic superbike was discontinued in the Indian market post the transition to new BS6 Emission Norms. Now, the Hayabusa is coming back to India in the coming months with unofficial bookings open at selected dealerships. This was confirmed by our friends at Financial Express. Indian buyers can book the cult motorcycle at a token amount of Rs 2 lakh. According to the dealerships quoted in the report, the deliveries are expected to commence by April 2021. In the coming days, we can expect an official announcement regarding the Hayabusa arrival in the country. 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa price would lie in the region of Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom), India. The new two-wheeler will be sold first in the European market before retailing in Japan and North America, then followed by India according to various reports.
The Third-Gen Suzuki Hayabusa flaunts an aggressive front fascia with sharper edges while retaining the older bike’s silhouette and design lines. The dual-exhaust system with chrome influence is sleeker and longer than the previous model. Other updates include an aerodynamic front profile, new fuel tank and all-new LED headlight. The instrument cluster now comes with a TFT LCD screen at the center surrounded by two analogue dials for the speedometer and tachometer. One can find information like lean angle, front and rear brake pressure, acceleration rate on the TFT display unit.
Another new addition to the legendary bike is the electronic suite consisting of a 6-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU) sourced from Bosch. The rider can look forward to a Bi-Directional Quick Shift System, Engine Brake Control System, Motion Track Traction Control System, Power Mode Selector in the new electronics package. Cruise control is the other exciting feature to come with this bike plus its handlebar has been moved forward by 12mm for a better and comfortable riding experience.
Moving on to performance, the 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa is powered by a liquid-cooled 1340cc inline-4 engine. The bike delivers 87 bhp of maximum power output while torque figure stands at 150Nm. The power output and torque have come down by 10 bhp and 5Nm respectively in comparison to the discontinued model. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox with a new slip and assist clutch unit. The superbike can clock a top speed of 299 kmph while its kerb weight stands at 264 kgs. Twin-discs upfront and a single disc towards the rear take care of braking duties out here.
