The all-new Accord is set to miss out on a V6 engine in favour of new turbocharged four-cylinder units.

The company has teased images of a camouflaged test mule of the all-new Accord, and has released details about the upcoming model. The New Accord will be launched globally at the end of the year.

The company has stated that the car will not feature a V6 engine, and will feature 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine from the Civic Type R. The car will also be available with an entry-level, turbocharged 1.5-litre, four-cylinder engine shared with the Civic and the CR-V. The Accord will be fitted with a six-speed manual gearbox or a new 10-speed automatic unit. Honda will also launch a hybrid variant that the carmaker claims is more refined than the current car’s unit.

The images released by Honda reveal very little about the car’s styling. The next-gen Accord’s design is new from the ground up, and it features a more aggressive stance and proportions now. The next-gen model is expected to go on sale internationally by the end of the year, but Honda hasn’t confirmed whether the car will make it to India yet.
