Honda is planning to unveil a new mid-size SUV at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show(GIIAS) that is going to be held on November 11-12. Having said this, the company has once again teased its 5-seater SUV concept. Not many details have been revealed yet. However, the new car could be named ZR-V.
Going by the teaser image, the new subcompact SUV will get a pair of sleek LED headlamps with stylish LED light signatures. In addition, it is also likely to get a well-sculpted bonnet, flared wheel arches, and a drooping nose which is a bit similar to Honda City. The overall silhouette looks like BR-V. However, the roofline is a bit tapering towards the rear, which further gives it a coupe-like appearance. Besides this, the SUV gets a prominent kink in the window line past the C-pillar. Other design bits that we can expect the car to get include sporty machine-cut alloy wheels and LED brake lights. Talking about the design of the brake lights, it might be similar to the styling bits used at the front. Moving on, there might also be an RS badging towards the rear end.

Since the new upcoming SUV will be based on the BR-V, we can expect both of them to share a lot of body panels. In terms of dimensions, the new car might be similar to the updated Hyundai Creta. Talking about the interior design, the upcoming mid-size SUV is likely to share most of the features with BR-V which is again quite similar to the Honda Amaze sold in India.

Performance-wise, the new Honda SUV might borrow the 1.5-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated i-VTEC petrol engine from the BR-V. At present, the engine churns out a top power of 120 bhp and a peak torque of 145 Nm. Transmission options could include a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic gearbox. Besides this, the car might also get a 1.5-litre petrol mild-hybrid engine with Honda's e:HEV technology. Having said this, we are expecting that the 5-seater SUV concept going to be unveiled at the GIIAS 2021 in Indonesia might get most of the features to be the midsize SUV in India. However, there is no information as to if this SUV will be launched in India or not.
