Hyundai is currently only exporting the petrol and diesel Verna 1.4 models.

The carmaker recently launched its fifth-generation Verna in India and it comes fitted with a choice of either a 1.6-litre petrol or a 1.6-litre diesel motor. The new Verna, however, doesn’t feature the entry-level 1.4-litre petrol and diesel engines. The company has stated that they be made available at a later date in India.

Both the 107hp 1.4-litre petrol and the 90hp 1.4-litre diesel engines are currently manufactured in India but only for export models. The carmaker is currently eyeing around 80,000 units of the smaller-engined Verna for exports.

The 1.4-litre motors in the Verna Range will make the car more affordable and will be positioned below the 1.6 model, with some equipment missing of course to help reduce costs.
