Our sources have said that this new Renault Duster will debut in India next week. This new facelifted SUV will sell at the same prices as the pre-facelift/current version.

French carmaker Renault is soon going to launch brand new compact MPV Triber in the Indian market. However, before this, the manufacturer will give its once-best-selling Duster yet another facelift to help the SUV sell for a few more years. Our sources have said that this new Renault Duster will debut in India next week. This new facelifted SUV will sell at the same prices as the pre-facelift/current version.

The pricing strategy makes sense given the fact that Duster is around 7 years old in India and no longer has the same appeal or craze it used to have a few years ago. The facelifted Duster will get many new style elements inside out but nothing changes in terms of engine and gearbox. This new SUV has also been caught testing on Indian roads in recent times. It was also seen without camouflage during a TVC shoot in the Himalayas. The spyshots on several auto portals nearly reveal everything new about the facelifted model.

The new facelifted model will feature a new grille with chrome plating, redesigned fog lamp housings, new surrounds for tail lamps that stretch across the hatch lid, and new alloy wheels. Coming to interiors, changes in colors for the seat fabric and interior trims are likely. The company will now use soft touch plastics on the facelifted model.

Talking about price, the current Duster range between Rs. 8 lakhs for the base petrol model to Rs. 13.14 lakhs for the top diesel AMT version. These prices will be maintained on the new model as well. The Renault Duster will continue to operate with two engine options, both 4-cylinder units. The petrol engine will be a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated unit that generates 106 Bhp power and 140 Nm torque.  There will be two gearbox options with the car: a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic.

The diesel engine is the 1.5-liter K9K turbocharged unit with two different tunings: 85 Bhp-200 Nm and 108 Bhp-240 Nm. The diesel engine in lower state of tune gets a 5-speed manual gearbox while the one in the higher state of tune gets both 6-speed manual and AMT options. Moreover, the Renault Duster is the only SUV in its class to get an all-wheel drive option on the top trim. The all-wheel drive variant of the Duster also gets additional safety features and independent rear suspension. On its launch, the new Duster will continue to rival Maruti S-Cross, Nissan Kicks and the Hyundai Creta.
