Hyundai is all set to enter the sub-4 meter compact SUV segment in India with the unveil of their Venue. The unveil will take place at the same time for the global audience as well at the New York Motor Show in the United States. Now the brand had released one more teaser for their latest offering in the sub-4 meter compact SUV segment.
The teaser shows the front shot of the upcoming Venue. One can see that the LED DRLs on the upcoming SUV enclose the headlamps at the front. The headlamps are placed in the bumper of the SUV, something that has been a trend with the new vehicles in the market recently. What the recent leaks have revealed is that the front of the upcoming sub compact SUV will feature the chrome accented grille, something that is bound to divide the opinion on the looks for sure. The overall silhouette of the Venue reminds one of the silhouette of the Creta. However, since the Venue is a smaller offering, it will measure under 4 meters in length.
The recent leaks show the same as there is a big screen mounted on the dashboard and a steering with a lot of function button that seems to have been borrowed from Creta. There is round display that has air-con and temperature display as well as control for the climate and temperature. There maybe a wireless charger on offer as well since there is a vacant space in front of gear lever.
Hyundai may equip the Venue with the newly developed 1L turbo petrol engine rated for 110 Bhp-170 Nm. Whereas, the diesel engine could be the 1.4L engine borrowed from Elite i20 and Creta likely to be in the state of tune of around 89 Bhp and 220 Nm. As far as gearbox is concerned, the leaks also revealed that the upcoming Venue will come with a dual-clutch transmission, a first for the segment. There could be another petrol engine on offer with the new SUV, again borrowed from the i20, a 1.4L unit rated to deliver around 99Bhp and 132 Nm.
The company says that Venue’s ‘Smart Connect SUV’ tag will arm it with 33 features and among these, 10 have been developed especially for India and it will also feature the brand’s ‘BlueLink Connected Technology’. The upcoming Venue will also have an emergency feature, roadside assistance and panic notification. The entire ‘Smart Connect SUV’ feature will also enable the South Korean maker to equip upcoming Venue with geo-fencing, speed alert, and valet alert etc. The upcoming Hyundai Venue will rival the likes of Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, and the newly launched Mahindra XUV300 in the Indian market.
