New Triumph Tiger 900 Launching on 19 June 2020

Triumph Tiger 900 will replace the Tiger 800 while challenging the likes of Ducati Multistrada 950 and Honda Africa Twin.

Triumph Motorcycles India had teased the Tiger 900 on its official website in May leading to speculations of a possible launch soon. However, due to COVID-19 pandemic, it had to delay the launch but finally the Tiger 900 is getting launched on 19 June 2020. It is going to replace the Tiger 800 in the Indian market. The COVID-19 pandemic forced the manufacturers to put a hold on the new product launches or take the digital route. The pre-bookings for Triumph Tiger 900 had already begun at a token amount of Rs 50,000 while it will be sold in 3 variants- GT, Rally and Rally Pro.

The new Triumph Tiger 900 is coming with a host of changes like suspension, design, body frame and engine. If we talk about the performance, the bike will be powered by a BS6 compliant 888cc 3 cylinder engine which will deliver 94bhp of maximum power and 87Nm of peak torque. It will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch as standard. Key highlights of the BS6 Triumph Tiger 900 are cornering ABS, traction control and six riding modes.

The Tiger 900 Rally variant will come with off-road and off-road pro modes with Anti-Stall feature to avoid facing stalling issues at rough terrains. The GT and Rally Pro variants will be equipped with features like the bi-directional quick shifter, tyre pressure monitor and heated seats. If we talk about the tech features on-board the bike, it gets aplenty in form of seven-inch TFT instrument panel with four different user interfaces, Bluetooth connectivity, My Triumph connectivity system with dedicated GoPro controls.

Triumph 900 Tiger is the third launch by the British motorcycle manufacturer amidst the lockdown. The Tiger 900 launch follows the 2020 Street Triple RS and the Bonneville T100 and T120 Black editions. The expected price for Triumph 900 Tiger would be in the range of Rs 12-15 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom, India). It will compete against Ducati Multistrada 950 and Honda Africa Twin in the Indian market.
