Volkswagen has released a teaser image of the new 7-seater SUV ahead of its global debut next week

Volkswagen will hold the world premiere of the new Tiguan Allspace on May 12, 2021. Besides flaunting an updated exterior design, it will also come loaded with a lot of advanced technical features. The company has released a teaser image of the SUV ahead of its global debut next week. The 7-seater SUV is already on sale in the Indian market and the updated version is also expected to launch here in the coming months. The German automaker had already given an update to the standard 5-seater Tiguan in September last year.

Being the 7-seater version of the Tiguan, the AllSpace is the 22-centimetre longer version of the standard SUV and over 1.5 million units of the SUV have been sold globally. The Tiguan AllSpace was firstly introduced four years back in 2017. The updates on the Allspace variant would be similar to the Tiguan and it is rather evident from the teaser image. The LED tail-lamp cluster shown in the teaser image is almost similar to the 5-seater variant. It has a boot capacity of 1920 litres when the third row seats are folded. The 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace for European & Asian markets will be manufactured in Puebla, Mexico while for the Chinese market, it will be manufactured in Shanghai.

The 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace will come with a wide range of online-based services and functions on board thanks to the MIB3 touchscreen infotainment system. In addition, it will boast of some of the finest safety features. Though, the engine specifications are expected to remain unchanged. The 7-seater SUV will retain the same 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged TSI petrol engine which will deliver a top power of 188bhp and peak torque of 320Nm. The engine will be linked to a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission with cruise control and speed limiter as standard while there is no manual gearbox on offer. The power is transmitted to all the four wheels via Volkswagen's 4MOTION 4-wheel drive system with drive mode selector.
