Launched on December 2, 2020, Nissan Magnite is making waves in the Indian market. It has received 5000 bookings so far and got 50,000 plus enquiries within the first week of its introduction. The subcompact SUV is the magic key to unlocking fast-growing Indian automobile market for Nissan. With a special introductory price of Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom) till December 31, 2020, it is the most affordable subcompact SUV in the country. However, come January 2021, these prices would increase. According to Nissan India the new price tag of Magnite would start from 5.59 lakh (ex-showroom), India. Even after the new pricing comes into effect, it will be the cheapest subcompact SUV on sale. Going by the booking numbers and enquiries so far, as per the brand it is the top-end variants - XV and XV Premium that are in high demand.
Speaking about the Nissan Magnite XV variant, it is priced at Rs 6.88 lakh (ex-showroom), India. Its cabin comes loaded with premium features like a floating 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, voice recognition system, a rearview camera, 2.4 A USB slot among many others. The buyer has two petrol engine options - a 1.0-litre B4D naturally aspirated unit equipped with a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 1.0-litre Turbo HRA0 mill featuring a 5-speed manual and CVT transmission.
Additionally, the buyer can also purchase a Tech Pack valued at Rs 38,698 for XV and above trims. With this Tech Pack, the user stands to benefit from features like an air purifier, LED ambient lighting, puddle lamps, wireless charging, premium speakers, among others. The top-end trim XV Premium (O) Dual Tone currently retails at Rs 9.59 lakh (ex-showroom), India. As for competition, the Magnite will compete against the likes of Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Kia Sonet, Toyota Urban Cruiser and Hyundai Venue in its segment.
