Nissan Magnite Launched; Price Starts at Rs 4.99 Lakh in India

Nissan Magnite has finally been launched in the Indian market today at a starting price of Rs 4.99 lakh

Nissan India has finally launched the much-awaited Magnite subcompact SUV at an introductory price of Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom) in the country. The price of the top-end variant goes as high as Rs 9.35 lakh (ex-showroom). These prices are applicable for customers who purchase the New Nissan Magnite before December 31, 2020. The SUV is available at all Nissan authorized dealerships across India. 




The new SUV is based on the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi CMF-A + platform that has been heavily localized to reduce manufacturing costs overall. It is offered in a total of four grades -XE, XL, XV, and XV Premium. In terms of design, the it features an Octagonal grille inspired by Datsun. In addition, it gets sleek halogen headlamps with L-shaped LED DRLs. The top-end XV Premium variant offers LED bi-projector headlamps. Talking about the fog lamps and a skid plate, they are integrated into the front bumper. On the sides, the Magnite provides roof rails and plastic cladding on the wheel arches. The rear end boasts of LED tail-lamp clusters. Along with this, there is also a ‘MAGNITE’ lettering on the tail-gate which further enhances the charm of the SUV. 




Inside the cabin, Nissan Magnite comes equipped with a plethora of segment-first features. These include an 8-inch touchscreen system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a fully digital instrument panel with a 7-inch TFT MID, automatic air-conditioning, rear AC vents, steering mounted controls, cruise control, push-button stop/start, tyre pressure monitoring system, and flat-bottom steering. Nissan is further offering a ‘Tech Pack’ as an option to its buyers. The ‘Tech pack’ costs around Rs 25,000 - Rs 30,000 extra. It further comprises of  a wireless charger, air purifier, ambient mood lighting, puddle lamps, and high-end speakers. Also, the ‘Tech pack’ is offered only with the XV and XV Premium trim.




Under the bonnet, the Magnite SUV comes equipped with two petrol engine options. First, is the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated unit that churns out a maximum power output of 72 bhp @6250 rpm and a peak torque of 96 Nm @3500 rpm. This powertrain is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. While the second is a 1.0-litre turbocharged engine that delivers 99 bhp power @5000 rpm. This particular unit generates 160 Nm torque @2800 - 3600 rpm with a 5-speed manual gearbox and 152 Nm torque @ 2200 - 4400 rpm featuring a CVT transmission.
