From the past week, the air quality also measured as AQI has severely degraded leaving unbreathable air wrapped around the cities. To manage this, the Delhi government implemented few restrictions. These restrictions include putting a ban on Diesel cars, implementing Odd-Even rules, and restricting BS3 petrol and BS4 diesel cars into the city. Seeing this, 3 satellite cities surrounding Delhi, namely, Faridabad, Noida, and Gurugram have also imposed a similar kind of restriction by putting a complete ban over BS3 petrol and BS4 diesel cars. This measure is taken under stage III of GRAPas it is currently implemented in all the aforementioned cities. The authorities have even commented on levying abrupt fines over those seen breaking the rules.
Delhi implemented strict restrictions over said vehicle movement last week only. And to further the cause and curb the pollution to get AQI under control, Delhi government has officially said about implementing Odd-Even rule post Delhi, starting 13th of November. The Odd-Even rule will be placed over vehicles for a week till November 20. And this scheme can further be alleviated only after keen monitoring of the pollution levels in the city.
