Renault Duster 1.3-litre turbo petrol is likely to launch in this month.

Renault India will launch the Duster turbo petrol this month. The mid-sized SUV made its debut at the Auto Expo this year. With the introduction of the new 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine, the Duster will become the most powerful SUV in its segment as this particular engine will churn out 156 bhp of maximum power and 250 Nm of peak torque. The engine will come with direct injection tech while mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox along with X-Tronic CVT unit with manual mode as an option.

This same powertrain is also found in the Nissan Kicks. But in this case, the engine delivers 153 bhp power and 254 Nm torque. Also not to forget, Renault will continue to offer the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with its low-end trims. This petrol unit delivers 106 bhp power and will be linked to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Cosmetically, the upcoming Duster turbo petrol will retain most of the exterior and interior features from the standard model. The mid-size SUV will feature red accents on the front bumper, radiator grille, and tailgate embellisher. It will further get black-coloured roof rails with Duster branding in red colour along with body-coloured ORVMs. This particular feature will distinguish the turbo petrol model from the standard one. Riding on alloy wheels, there will be no changes made inside the cabin of the upcoming Duster.

Until the car is not launched, we will not be able to confirm if this new powerful engine is going to do justice to the mid-size SUV segment or not. Once launched, the SUV will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Nissan Kicks. As for the price, then the Duster turbo petrol will be a little pricier than the Duster standard model.
