Ola plans to manufacture the electric scooter at its upcoming factory at Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu

Ola Electric Scooter is all set to make its debut in the country on August 15, 2021. Ola’s CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal took to Twitter where he revealed that price details and full specs will be revealed on 15th August. Furthermore, the company claims that the bookings for the upcoming electric scooter surpassed the 1 lakh unit booking milestone within 24 hours of the company opening the reservation counter. The bookings for the vehicle were being made either via www.olaelectric.com or through the Ola app at a refundable amount of Rs 499. 



2021 Ola Electric Scooter: Features

There is no doubt that Ola will equip the electric scooter with several segment-first features like app-based keyless access and the biggest-in-class boot space. Cosmetically, the new electric scooter will feature a dual-projector headlamp with LED DRL, a tail light, a single-piece seat, a hook for carrying luggage, a black coloured floor mat, split-type rear grab handles, a fully digital instrument cluster, and an external charging port. 

2021 Ola Electric Scooter: Engine Specifications 

The upcoming electric scooter is expected to offer a range of 140-150 km on a single charge. The scooter can achieve a top speed of around 100 kmph. Moving on, the upcoming electric scooter will be manufactured at the brand’s future factory at Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu that has been established with an investment of nearly Rs 2400 Crores. It is being said that this factory will generate around 10,000 jobs. 

2021 Ola Electric Scooter: Color Options

The company has already confirmed that the electric scooter will be offered in a total of 10 vibrant shades. However, the name of the colors has not been revealed yet. But it is expected that the customers will get to make a choice between gloss and matte shades from the options in red, blue, black, gold, silver, yellow, white, and pink. 


2021 Ola Electric Scooter: Rivals

Once the scooter is launched in the country, it will rival the likes of Bajaj Chetak electric, TVS iQube, Ather 450X, products from Hero Electric & Okinawa.
