Ola electric scooter has been grabbing all the headlines of late in the Indian market. The company yesterday commenced the official bookings for the scooter online at a token payment of Rs 499/- while it will rival the likes of Bajaj Chetak and TVS iQube in the country. Recently, it was spotted in different color schemes ahead of its launch scheduled by the end of this month in India. Being locally developed at the Ola Futurefactory in Tamil Nadu, Ola electric scooter price is expected below Rs 1 Lakh (Ex. Showroom).
Today, Ola Group CEO Bhavish Aggarwal tweeted, " “India’s EV revolution begins today! Bookings now open for the Ola Scooter! India has the potential to become the world leader in EVs and we’re proud to lead this charge!” Aggarwal even took the electric scooter for a spin in Bengaluru. Going by the spied images, one can notice the electric scooter in Pink and Blue exterior colors. Till now, the scooter was unveiled only in black and white colors only. Ola CEO had asked users on Twitter micro-blogging website about the color options that they want to see with the scooter. The massive instrument cluster of the scooter can also be seen in the spy-shots with 87 percent charge remaining and 122 kms range.
We can assume that Ola electric scooter will come with a range of 140-150 kilometres on a single charge while the top speed is expected to be around 100kmph. It has been learnt that the 0-45kmph acceleration time will be 3.9 seconds. Some of the other notable features in the e-scooter will be cloud connectivity, alloy wheels, a removable lithium battery pack and telescopic suspension. Ola's Futurefactory in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu has been established with an investment of nearly Rs 2400 Crores while it will also generate around 10,000 jobs. Besides the Indian market, Ola electric scooter will also be exported to various regions abroad like Europe, Asia and Latin America.
