Ola Electric is all set to launch the MoveOS 4 software update on its e-scooters on January 18. The manufacturer has already shared most of the details about the updated software in 2023. India’s largest electric scooter manufacturer introduced the MoveOS 4 software in a beta version last year. The company has scheduled the official launch for this week. This new version of the operating system incorporates new improvements to existing features.
One of the biggest feature updates that MoveOS 4 will provide is the introduction of Ola Maps. It will have features such as ‘Find my scooter’ and ‘Share location from the app’. The updated software will come with safety features such as Hill Hold, tamper alert, and Hill descent control. It includes several features like faster hypercharging, garage mode, profile controls, improved regeneration, concert mode, care mood, improved proximity unlock, and increased range.

Ola Electric will also add a new Ride Journal feature that will in turn show average speed, range, efficiency, regeneration, efficiency, distance covered, and money saved. The updated MoveOS 4 software will allow the company’s buyers to enable biometric app lock. The rider will need to use a finger or face to open the application. Ola will also be providing cruise control and application widgets in Eco riding mode. Additionally, MoveOS 4 software will get personalized proximity, new trip meters, auto turn indicator cut-off, headphone control for calls and music, favorite contacts, and take-me-home lights.
The interface in the software will get updated features like OTA update, dark mode, vacation mode, regen setting, and call setting. The scooter will also get a tamper alert to warn the owners that the scooter is being tampered with.
Ola currently sells three electric scooters in the country: the S1 Pro, S1 Air, and S1X. The electric vehicle maker recently marked a major milestone of producing four lakh units, becoming the fastest electric two-wheeler maker to hit this landmark in less than three years. The company currently holds a 40 percent market share in the electric two-wheeler segment.
Under the new initiative called ‘Keep Riding’, the brand is promoting bike rides in this winter season by offering free fuel to new buyers.
