Ola Electric finally launched the MoveOS 4 software update for its e-scooters on January 18, 2024. The electric two-wheeler manufacturer will fully implement the MoveOS 4 software via over-the-air (OTA) updates within a week. The software is loaded with more than 100 features. Some of the features are first in the segment. The new software can be installed on all Ola scooters except the S1 X. India's largest electric scooter manufacturer has not disclosed any timeline on when the owners of S1 X scooters will get this new software. However, the company is working on adding the new software to this scooter as well.
Customers can download the updated Ola software by following three simple steps. To use the Ola Electric app, one must first connect to Wi-Fi. After connecting, activate the auto-download feature under System Settings. After the download is finished, click install to get the software on your e-scooters.

Within the last two years, Ola has launched two software updates for its customers, and MoveOS 4 is the third major software update unveiled by the automaker. The electric scooter maker launched two software updates in 2022. The new software was scheduled to be launched last year, but it was delayed.
One of the major feature upgrades that MoveOS 4 offers is Ola Maps. It has features such as ‘Share location from the app’ and ‘Find my scooter’. The new navigation system is developed internally, and it integrates the company’s own Hypercharger network for the convenience of its buyers. Ola Electric has also introduced a new Ride Journal function that will showcase battery usage, regen, efficiency, average speed, distance covered on every trip, range, and money saved.
Ola MoveOS 4 provides an anti-theft alarm feature that can negate every possibility of stealing electric scooters. Biometric app lock will be enabled for Ola users with the MoveOS 4 software upgrade. To open the program, the user will have to use their finger or face.
The updated software will also come with safety features such as Hill Hold, tamper alert, and Hill Descent Control. It includes several features like garage mode, profile controls, improved regeneration, care mood, improved proximity unlock, concert mode, and increased range. The MoveOS 4 update also provides application widgets and cruise control in eco-riding mode. Other features include headphone control for music and calls, auto-turn indicator cut-off, new trip meters, personalized proximity, and favorite contacts.
