Being dubbed as Ola Hypercharger Network, it will cover 400 cities with over 1 Lakh charging points

Ola Electric has announced plans to install the world's largest electric two-wheeler charging network in the country. Being christened as 'Ola Hypercharger Network', it will be spread over 400 cities with more than 1 Lakh charging points in India. The company is all set to launch its first all-electric scooter in the coming months in the Indian market. All the Ola customers will be offered a set of charging options for their electric vehicle which include the high-speed Ola Hyperchargers and the home-charger that will come bundled with the Ola Scooter.

In the initial year, Ola will set up more than 5000 charging points across 100 cities in India, which is more than double the existing charging infrastructure in the country. Besides being the largest and densest network, Ola Hypercharger will also be the fastest two wheeler charging network. The Ola electric scooter will be charged to 50 percent from zero in merely 18 minutes for a range of 75 kilometers. The Hyperchargers will be installed in city centers and dense business districts as standalone towers as well as in popular locations such as malls, IT parks, office complexes, cafes and more. This will ensure that an Ola electric scooter never runs out of charge.

The Hypercharger network will be fairly easy to use as an individual has to simply arrive at a charging location and plug the scooter into the charging point. The customers can also monitor the charging progress in real time on the Ola Electric app and the same app can be used to seamlessly pay for the charging as well. Besides the Hypercharger network, Ola will also provide the customers a home charger on the purchase of Ola Scooter. The home charger will require no installation and will provide Ola customers the convenience of charging at home by simply plugging into a regular wall socket for overnight charging. Ola Electric scooter will be locally manufactured at the Ola Futurefactory which is being built at record-speed in Tamil Nadu, India, with its first phase to be ready this summer.
