Over 50,000 units of the Honda WR-V sold

The car has accounted for 28 percent of total Honda sales since March 2017.

The company’s Jazz-based crossover, the WR-V, has done quite well since its launch. The company has managed to sell 50,000 units since March 2017. The car accounted for 28 percent of Honda’s total sales in the year. There are four trims on sale but the top-spec VX account for about 80 percent of total sales. Around 42 percent opted for the 90hp, 1.2-litre petrol engine, while 58 percent chose the 100hp, 1.5-litre diesel model.

Tier 1 cities (38 percent) have accounted for the greatest demand, though demand in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities weren’t far behind with 30 percent and 32 percent, respectively. The most units were sold in North India (30 percent), followed by West (28 percent), South (27 percent) and East India (15 percent).

The WR-V is priced from Rs 7.78 lakh to Rs 9.00 lakh for the petrol model and from Rs 8.82 lakh to Rs 9.99 lakh for the diesel.
