Porsche Macan facelift gets several cosmetic and mechanical upgrades in comparison to its predecessor

Porsche has launched the facelifted version of Macan at a starting price of Rs 83.21 lakhs (ex-showroom) in the country. The SUV is offered in a total of three variants namely Macan, Macan S, and Macan GTS. The updated Macan gets subtle cosmetic and mechanical updates. 

Porsche Macan Facelift: Design

In terms of design, the Macan facelift features a reshaped grille upfront with a body-coloured inlay. In addition, it gets new LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System(PDLS), new ‘Sport Design’ exterior mirrors, and larger wheels. The top-end trim Macan GTS features an array of black, sporty trim elements along with a bespoke rear diffuser. The SUV will be offered in a total of 14 exterior paint shades.

Porsche Macan Facelift: Features

The cabin of the Porsche Macan facelift gets an update as well. The SUV features a new steering wheel, a shorter gear selector, and a reworked centre console. Besides this, the physical buttons and switches have been replaced by a touch-sensitive panel with illuminated haptic icons. Feature-wise, the updated Porsche Macan comes equipped with a 10.9-inch touchscreen display that runs Porsche’s sixth-generation infotainment software platform, Apple Carplay connectivity, Sport Chrono package, air suspension on top-end GTS, and Porsche Dynamic Light System. Porsche is also offering a host of new personalization options in this SUV.

Porsche Macan Facelift: Engine Specifications

Performance-wise, the entry-level Macan is powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine that churns out a top power of 264 bhp. This variant can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in a mere 6.2 seconds with a top speed of 232 kmph. The top-end Macan GTS gets a 2.9-litre V6 bi-turbo petrol unit that generates 439 bhp power. This trim can do a sprint from 0-100 kmph in just 4.3 seconds with a top speed of 272 kmph. The mid-spec Macan S, on the other hand, uses the same 2.9-litre unit but develops a top power of 379 bhp. The variant can accelerate up to 100 kmph in 4.6 seconds. Transmission duties in all the trims will be handled by a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Porsche’s Traction Management all-wheel-drive system is offered as standard.

Porsche Macan Facelift: Rivals

The 2021 Porsche Macan will rival the likes of the other luxury SUVs like BMW X4, Mercedes Benz GLC Coupe, and Range Rover Velar.
