The GT3-based drop-top was revealed as part of Porsche’s 70-year celebration.

The drop-top 911 Speedster concept was shown at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The company is currently celebrating its 70th anniversary and the production version of this GT3-based sportscar could be built. A “potential series-production version” could be on the cards according to the carmaker. There are prototypes that have been spotted being tested in Germany.

The open-top concept shares its chassis with the current 911 GT3 and is powered by a six-cylinder engine that makes “more than 500hp”. Power will be channelled via a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed PDK transmission. The concept features details that celebrate Porsche’s early racing days.

If the car does make production, it will go on sale next year and in limited years.
