Renault Triber Sub-4 Meter MPV Unveiled in India

After a series of teasers and leaks, the French automaker Renault has finally presented their sub-4 meter compact MPV in the Indian market. What differentiates this Renault offering from other MPVs in the market is that the latest from the stables of Renault is smaller and more affordable than the current rivals in the market. While the ex-showroom prices for Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Mahindra Marazzo start at Rs. 7.45 lakhs and Rs. 10.17 lakhs respectively, the Triber is expected to be price around the Rs. 5 lakh price point in the Indian market. This will make the Triber a very good value-for-money offering especially in a market as price conscious as India.

The new Renault Triber is based on the modified iteration of CMF-A platform, the actual launch of the MPV is supposed to take place sometime around the festive season this year. CMF-A (common module family-A) is the affordable platform that the French company came up with for developing markets. One can already find Renault Kwid and Datsun RediGo in the Indian market that are based on the same platform. The MPV comes with the capability to seat 7 people.

The French automaker pointedly stated that their latest offering in the market has been designed while keeping Indian conditions in mind. The Renault Triber will make its way to other markets as well, but at a later stage. The design of the Triber is very sober and the crossover inspired design of the Triber makes it a very unique looking car in the market. The overall creases on the body of the Triber also give a good aesthetic, something that the future customers of the MPV will surely appreciate.

As per the brand, the Triber is as wide as the bigger MPVs in the market and the second row seats of the MPV can also be slided and folded as per the need of the user. The third row seats are also movable and can be removed altogether as well. As already, expected the third row users will also get a taste of features like armrests and charging points, these nifty things will surely distinguish the Triber in Indian market. Talking of the dashboard, there are a few interesting features present here as well. The dash comes with an all-digital instrument cluster, central air conditioning system, touchscreen infotainment system and more. The Triber also gets class-leading headroom and boot space without the third-row in place.

The Triber will be a petrol only car in the Indian market but the company has not fully revealed the engine details of the car as of now. However, the Triber will come with a 1.0-litre petrol engine. The output for the petrol engine could be in the range of 71 Bhp and 96 Nm. The AMT version of this upcoming MPV has also been spotted testing, therefore an AMT is sure to be offered with the car along with a manual gearbox. However, the company has not confirmed the same as of now. The all-new Triber will be launched in the Indian market in the coming months. It is expected to get an aggressive price tag and will undercut the likes of the Ertiga and Marazzo with a huge price difference.
