River EV Indie Electric Scooter First Batch Delivery Starts in Bengaluru

River EV is a purely India based EV startup and this February, they revealed their first EV scooter, Indie which is powered by a 6.7 kWh electric motor and can produce a peak torque of 26 Nm.

River EV is a bengaluru-based EV scooter manufacturer. Yesterday, they began their first pre-booked batch of EV Indie scooter deliveries in the Bengaluru region. Respective owners were distributed keys to the scooters during an event. The Indie EV scooter was revealed earlier this year in february. And the rollout of the first unit unveiled in August in Hoskote from River EV’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.

The first pre-booked batch delivered yesterday was priced at the same pre-booked value of INR 1.2 lakh(ex-showroom). But, River is planning to revise the price of the debut product and will soon reveal the major change. This price hike came right after the revised FAME II subsidy.

River EV is also side by side diligently working on opening their first-ever experience centre. It is expected to open its doors in November. The brand has gained a total investment of $28 millions from marquee investors to pace up its electric mobility venture since March 2021. The company has set its eye to target selling 1 lakh units by the end of 2025.

The Indie electric scooter by River is powered by a 6.7 kWh electric motor and can produce a peak torque of 26 Nm. The rear wheel gets power by a power belt, propelling the scooter to sprint around 0-40 kmph in only 3.9 seconds at a peak speed of 90 kmph. The motor comes mated with a 4 kWh battery pack, which is affirmed to deliver a 120-km range on a single charge.

But, why is this scooter ravishing the EV scooter market? It’s because of its unmatched design, unabated features and what not that leaves people awestruck. 

River EV Indie Specs

It has dual LED headlamps integrated with LED daytime running lights along with LED taillights. In the front, customers get a completely digital 6-inch colour instrument cluster, 43 L under-seat boot space, ample spaced 20 inch footboard, and 12 L glove box, and much more.

The scooter has meaty tyres coupled with 14 inch black alloy wheels. The front wheel acquires a 20 mm disc brake, where the rear wheel gets a 200 mm disc. The EV scooter gets a telescopic setup at the front and a twin hydraulic system at the back for suspension duty.
