MJR Roach a turbocharged Royal Enfield Himalayan is equipped with Garrett GT 125 turbocharger

Royal Enfield Himalayan is one of the most popular adventure touring motorcycles across the world. Himalayan has earned rave reviews from bike enthusiasts due to its affordability factor. It is an ideal motorcycle for bike lovers who love extreme offroading campaigns. The Chennai based outfit launched BS6 Himalayan in India recently to comply with new stringent BS6 Emission Norms. Concerning the motorcycles, plenty of exciting modifications have been spotted from Indonesia to the United Kingdom and to Las Vegas in America. Indians too have undertaken plenty of Royal Enfield Himalayan customization with some impressive results. Today, we bring to you customization from Royal Enfield Customer Crew. The bike designer team are a part of the Royal Enfield Technical Center in the United Kingdom. The team has turbocharged the off-roader motorcycle to give it a boost in performance. 

This turbocharged Royal Enfield Himalayan is nicknamed ‘MJR Roach’ and is built from scratch to aid the increase in power output. You can easily call it a suitable bike for the post-apocalyptic world like the Mad Max Fury. Modification looks unique but it’s nothing short of innovation considering the technology and knowledge required to turbocharge a single-cylinder engine.

The key highlight is the Garrett GT 125 – a turbocharger that helps the engine to generate a maximum power output of 50 bhp. This power output is more than the KTM 390 Adventure and Royal Interceptor 650. The power output in MJR Roache is almost double of the stock Himalayan motorcycle which delivers 24 bhp. Components like K&N aftermarket air filter and a new fuel pump have also been added to the modified Himalayan. The bike is equipped with a Li-Ion battery thus reducing the weight. The interesting point to note out here is that  the engine and chassis used in the modification came from a crashed donor bike. Its swingarm is single-sided and has been extended in order increase the wheelbase for better vehicle stability. MJR Roach also comes with spoke wheels while the seat height has been dropped in order to merge well with the lowered rear monoshock.  The front sports a twin projector headlamp along with a flyscreen. Plus the motorcycle is equipped with a stock instrument cluster and boost gauges.
