Royal Enfield Launches New Affordable Bullet 350X in India

Royal Enfield, the oldest continuous production motorcycle brand of the world made a great comeback in the Indian market in the early first decade of the millennium and was going great guns until a few years ago. The brand has been facing negative growth in the double digits. What makes this situation even dire for the company is that it fell to negative growth in double digits from a position of positive growth in double digits. We had already informed you that it is due to this reason that the retro bike maker was looking at bringing out a more affordable bike in the market. Now Royal Enfield has done the same in the form of Royal Enfield Bullet 350X which has been priced at Rs 1.12 lakhs, ex-showroom. This makes the latest bike from the retro bike maker cheaper than its much famed model Bullet 350, which comes in at Rs 1.21 lakhs, ex-showroom.

Not to be confused with the 350X model of the Thunderbird series, the latest bike from the maker is based on the Bullet series and not the urban youth focused Thunderbird series. What distinguishes the latest offering from the Indian retro bike maker from the standard Bullet is the cosmetic changes on the 350X. The chrome elements of the standard Bullet have been replaced with blacked-out parts in the Bullet 350X, the brand will also offer alloy wheels as option for the latest Bullet 350X, something that is not available with the Bullet. This goes with the strategy of the brand to offer a bare-bones bike and give the customer the choice to customize it as per their needs.

Along with the cosmetic changes on the 350X, the brand is also offering new shades with the latest entrant in the market. The kick start version of the bike priced at Rs. 1.12 lakhs, ex-showroom come with the option of Bullet Silver, Sapphire Blue and Onyx Black shades. The other variant of the Bullet 350X which is the electric start variant comes with the option of Jet Black, Regal Red and Royal Blue shades. What is to be taken note of is that the standard Bullet comes only in black shade and the standard Bullet ES comes in maroon and silver shades as well. The fuel tank logo on the Bullet 350X also has been restyled and is now a mere decal instead of 3D style logo seen on the standard Royal Enfield Bullet 350.

Apart from the aesthetic changes, the other parts of the bike remain same as the standard Bullet 350 and the 350X still comes with a 346cc, single-cylinder engine rated to deliver 19.8 PS and 28 Nm. This engine is paired to a 5 speed manual unit.
