Royal Enfield Meteor 350, All-New Thunderbird image revealed online.

Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 is a roaring success in the Indian market and been a hit among bike enthusiasts for sometime now. We have some good news for the Thunderbird fans as the image leaks point to a successor to Thunderbird 350. The all new generation Thunderbird would be branded as 'Royal Enfield Meteor' with the launch expected in the second half of 2020. It’s not just the name change, there are going to be comprehensive updates in mechanicals and design too. Media reports all indicate that Royal Enfield is building its next generation of motorcycles on a new, modular J platform and the Meteor 350 is based on the same. Codenamed as Royal Enfield J1C0, Meteor 350 will underpin the replacement for the Bullet and Classic Series motorcycles in the country.

A new future-ready engine will feature on the Meteor 350 motorcycle and we could have a smaller version based on the 649 cc parallel-twin motor powering the 650 Twins. Royal Meteor 350 would be a single-cylinder motor between 350 cc and 500 cc. The current 346 cc engine in the Royal Enfield line-up will be upgraded to BS6 emission norms and gets fuel-injection. Meteor 350 will come with V-shaped alloy wheels, rear twin shock absorbers, and a blacked-out engine case. The instrument console will be digital but could be a part-analog set-up for a retro effect. New design aspects include a wider seat, new indicators, LED DRL's and revamped footpegs. Royal Enfield Meteor 350 will have better egonomics with more mounting points for luggage.

Royal Enfield hasn’t announced any timeline for the launch of Thunderbird / Meteor motorcycle in India or global markets. The festive season would always be the perfect time for any automobile launch but we can expect them to hit the markets by late 2020 or early 2021.
