Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Launch Inches Closer

Royal Enfield has restarted production at Chennai facility, hence the Meteor 350 launch is imminent.

Royal Enfiled restarted production at its Oragadam facility near Chennai in Tamil Nadu a couple of days back. Since the manufacturing has commenced once again, it is safe to say that the launch of all-new Meteor 350 is imminent. The production version of Royal Enfield Meteor 350 was spied undisguised in March this year and it was expected to launch in the same month but it got delayed due to the 21-day lockdown announced by the Indian government which got further extended for 14 days twice because of Coronavirus pandemic.

Being termed as a successor to the Thunderbird 350, Royal Enfield Meteor 350 is one of the most awaited motorcycles of 2020 in India. It would flaunt a round halogen headlamp upfront with a circumferential LED DRL. The bike has been equipped with a new instrument cluster which comes with a secondary dial. There will be a teardrop fuel tank layout with ‘Royal Enfield’ sticker. The Meteor 350 will ride on alloy wheels with body-coloured pinstripes while the rear end will boast of a retro-styled tail lamp unit and turn signals. Royal Enfield Meteor 350 is expected to debut an all new BS6 compliant engine which will come with single overhead camshaft (SOHC) and an electronic fuel-injection system.

Royal Enfield is gradually restarting operations and opening dealerships in a phased wise manner across the country. The production at Oragadam facility has commenced with minimal staff in a single shift while it is yet to start at the other two facilities at Tiruvottiyur and Vallam Vadagal. The company is following the norms of social distancing at its manufacturing unit and dealerships. The premises are being sanitised as per the safety guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. Royal Enfield is also following the new set of guidelines issued by the Tamil Nadu state government regarding the resumption of manufacturing, industrial and commercial business activities.
